Quantum reconstruction is gaining rapid prominence in physics. Quantum Theory has been used by scientists for almost a century. There have been great accomplishments but embarrassingly scientist still don't know what it means. In 2011 an informal pole was taken at a conference on Quantum Physics and The Nature of Reality showed that there is no consensus on what quantum Theory says about reality. Those participating in the survey remained deeply divided on how the theory should be interpreted.
Some physicists relegate themselves to the fact that quantum mechanics is weird. Particles can be in two places at once and communicate instantaneously over great distances. The theory works fine to calculate what experiments reveal about atoms, molecules, sub-atomic particles quantum mechanics works great.
Quantum reconstruction was born out of the need to dig deeper to find out why quantum mechanics has the form it does. It amounts to rebuilding the theory from scratch from a few simple principles. The bi-radial matrix is based on a few simple principle relating to the geometric properties of space and time. This represents a major avenue of research in Quantum Reconstruction. A number of fundamental quantum harmonic field structure are derived from first principles using the geometric methods stemming from the bi-radial matrix. More to come on this exciting development.
